Losing a Lifeline in a Crumbling Economy: For Animators and Those Alike

There are people who enter the various artistic industries as a freelance worker with a backup plan in mind in case they need more money. Since they know that depending on payments from project to project isn’t the most secure method of earning a living, they would have in mind another profession in mind that: is thought to have plenty of jobs and security, and would be either be similar to their passion or tolerable and provides sustainable pay – except these previously “secure” jobs aren’t like they used to be.

Current economy has been increasing living costs, providing more financial difficulty to those who need to move closer to their new potential job. This increased living cost is coupled with the price to be educated for this potentially secure job, Not only that, but the position that was thought to be traditionally secure, such as IT or law, are unstable as these industries “have also dealt with redundancies and organizational change at an alarming rate,” says Sarah Henson, senior behavioral scientist at digital career-coaching platform CoachHub. Even if someone was able to be trained online for free, some of these industries may require hands-on training; or intense periods of studying and exams, and hours of on-the-job experience.

These are troubling times for everyone, and we hope for a brighter future for us all.
